    Fremont Mischief Distillery is Located on Canal Street, facing the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The owner and operator Mike Sherlock’s former career as a shipyard owner & commercial fisherman has influenced his approach to distilling, where he emhasizes artistry and appreciation for PNW ingredients. Each part of the whiskey making process is local, from the grain farms to the maltster, and artisan millers, & barrel maker. Named after the grandfather of Mike’s wife Patti, John Jacob Rye is 90% northern dark rye berries and 10% malted barley. It is then double oaked, first in new oak with #3 char, and second in single use bourbon barrels. The result is a light bodied rye with easy notes of oak, flavors of vanilla and honey, and pleasant spice.
